This library catalog represents every music file I have collected over my lifetime (that I still have anyway). It is currently just a static listing that I'm building bit by bit. For organization and to cut down on scroll fatigue I'm limiting each 'section' to around 200 lines. This means some artists who are over represented will end up with their own listing. In the future, if I become ambitious enough, I may look into upgrading to a database. But that's down the road a ways if, indeed, ever.
Presently we're organized alphabetically by folder name. Most of the time folder name and artist name are the same. There are a few exceptions - usually in the case of compilations or soundtracks. The intent is to eventually be listed alphabetical by artist name alone.
Alphabetical by name means alphabetical by the first letter occurring in the name (and if we really want to split hairs it's actually in lexicographic order). In the case of a "First Name Last Name" kinda' thing, it's the first letter of the first name you should be looking at. "Billy Joel" is under "B" not "J". Articles count. "A Perfect Circle" is under "A" not "P". "The Who" is under "T" not "W". I may have dropped an article or two over the years so I'm not sure if "The Smashing Pumpkins" is under "T" or "S"...but it's around here somewhere. "Maximum the Hormone" is at the end because it's spelled in katakana.
I've done my best to find original release years, albums and "genre" information. Keep in mind "genre" is very subjective. I am not here to gatekeep what constitutes "genre A" vs "genre B". I don't give a flying rat's puckered sphincter about such things. I'm mostly letting Wikipedia inform what "genre" a particular artist falls under (except Nu Metal...the folks editing Wikipedia seem to think anything harder than pop that was released between 1998 and 2015 is "Nu Metal" - which caused me years of confusion). Genre information is provided for categorical convenience only and should be taken with several grains of iodized salt.
Some of the content in my library is considered explicit - lewd, violent, "problematic", critical of authority, irreverent, blasphemous, morbid, etc. I am not going to label it for you. If you're adolescent enough that you need to worry about if something is "appropriate" or not - assume it is not.
Note: Korn's "Cuntilingus" is not appropriate for anyone. Seriously, what a piece of shit that song is.
